Sam Archer - Chair, Riverina Local Land Services
Sam Archer was appointed local Chair of Riverina LLS on 3 October 2013.
Sam has served twenty years in senior management and business development roles for a number of companies, government bodies and industry groups.
Sam has a broad range of skills and has worked for a number of high profile organisations including: NSW Farmers Association, Murrumbidgee Landcare, ActewAGL, National Farmers Federation, Meat and Livestock Australia, Australian Farm Institute, Rural Industries Research Development Corporation, Farm Apps Pty Ltd, BioBanking Ministerial Reference Group, Chubb Security Services, and Ecowise Environmental.
Sam's key attributes are: stakeholder engagement, policy development, documentation and delivery; the ability to resolve complex issues strategically and creatively; business re-engineering, management change and team leadership skills; strategic planning, program/project management, risk management and corporate governance.
Sam received the Nuffield Farming Scholarship in 2008 and researched international ecosystems and climate change initiatives in the Americas, Europe and India, establishing an international network of policy makers, land managers & advocates.
He has worked with the Kiwirrkurra Aboriginal Corporation, in the Gibson Desert, developing and implementing management plans into the remote aboriginal community resulting in improved efficiencies, profitability, staff motivation and community goodwill.
Sam also worked with the Warringarri Aboriginal Corporation, in the Kimberley, administering development grants for 2,000 aboriginal members in 28 communities designed to secure government and private sector funding for a joint venture mango farm & packing facility.
