Funding Program 2017-18

Our funding program

Funding is available for land managers to improve and manage the health of our landscapes.

Project eligibility will vary across local government areas within the Riverina region.

There are a wide range of projects that address the broad areas of Productive Farms and Natural Landscapes.

Productive Farms

The Productive Farms program provides funding for land managers to assist with increasing the productivity and sustainability of their farms.

Local activities and projects have been developed to promote practices that enhance soil health, maximise the maintenance of ground cover and reduce soil erosion by wind and water.

Natural Landscapes

The Natural Landscapes program has funding to assist land managers to increase and improve the native vegetation on their farms.

Local activities and projects have been developed to focus on a range of restoration activities that protect and restore nationally and state listed threatened species and ecological communities.

The following projects and activities are available if your property is located in the local government areas of Hay, Carrathool, Griffith, Murrumbidgee and Leeton.

The following projects and activities are available if your property is located in the local government areas of Junee, Temora, Bland, Coolamon, Wagga Wagga, Narrandera and Lockhart.

Natural Landscapes

  • fencing to enhance and manage existing native vegetation
  • planting native vegetation

  • planting paddock trees
  • fencing and planting native vegetation to protect wetlands, rivers, creeks and gullies
  • protection and creation of habitat for threatened species (which may include revegetation, preservation of hollow trees and nestboxes)
  • pest and weed control within project areas.
